Cinnamic acid derivatives:

I'm working on the synthesis of various types of cinnamic acid derivatives whereabouts there are pyridyl- or thienyl goup instead of phenyl. I'm investigating the self-assembly capabilities of Sulphur and Nitrogen containing cinnamic acid derivatives (E/Z-3(heteroaryl)propeonic acids) in different type of solvents, in solid phase and on polycrystalline metal surfaces as well, have resort to Infrared, Raman and NMR Spectroscopy and many surface investigating methods like Atomic Force Microscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopy.

I'm engaging with molecular modelling and quantum chemistry calculations also e.g.:  calculations at Hartree-Fock and post Hartree-Fock levels, "semiempirical" (PM3, PM6-methods)  and "ab initio" calculations (geometry optimisations and confomational search).

Other interests:

Building electrical circuits controlled by different type of microcontrollers especially thermostates, melting point measurers, flow and pressure controll.

Engineering magnetic susceptibility devices and special type of acid and base resistant vessels with anaerob capabilities.
