Two new polyazamacrocycles 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7,10-tetrayltetramethylene-tetrakis (phenylphoshinic acid) H4L1 and 1,4,8,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1-methyl-4,8,10-triyl-trimethylene-tetrakis-(phenylphoshinic acid) H4L2 were synthesised, complexes with lanthanides were prepared and their crystal structures were determined. In contrast to the other cyclen phosphinic derivatives published [LaL1]- has RSRS configuration on phosphorus atoms in the solid state. The [LnL2] complexes are dimeric as is shown in the Fig.

NMR spectra show that in D2O or CD3OD solutions a mixture of isomers exists. The HH cosy technique could be applied to solve 1H NMR spectrum of [EuL1]-. Dependence of 1H and 31P NMR shifts on temperature in the region of 25-50 oC for paramagnetic [LnL1]- are strictly linear with high slope.
