At the Faculty of Chemical Engineering of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, the postgradual course of analytical chemistry (a two-year part time course for engineers holding an M.Sc. degree) has been operating for decades. The course is hosted by the Institute of General and Analytical Chemistry. Beyond updating of the particular subjects, the originally uniform curriculum developed into four branches: instrumental analysis, environmental analysis, chromatography, and quality assurance in analytical chemistry. The branch of chromatography works separately, while the other three branches have a common first year.
The paper gives an overview of the curriculum of the quality assurance branch, discussing the subjects related to mathematics, statistics and chemometrics in detail, and describes the results of the course.
