Concerning the time-interval 1986-1995, data of six measuring stations along the whole Hungarian section of river Sajó has been processed by the aid of the principal component analysis (PCA). The evaluation of the following data has been performed:

The statistical investigation has been carried out for each measuring station as well as for the whole river-section in Hungary.

The application of the PCA aimed at the followings:

By the interpretation of the results of the PCA method, those obtained by the aid of the descriptive statistics has been considered, too (distribution, trend, and correlation).

The principal component analysis as well as the tests of the descriptive statistics has been performed by the aid of software “Statistica for Windows“.
