Research interest: Synthesis of several steroid derivatives.
1. Chemo-, regio- and stereoselective transformations of estranes and androstanes. D-ring opening and D-ring closure reactions. Synthesis of D-homo- and heterocyclic steroids. Appications of domino reactions for the synthesis of new derivatives, such as hybrid natural products.
2. Synthesis of biologically
active steroids. Preparation of 16,16-dimethyl and 16-spirocyclic compounds. Synthesis of a bile acid derivative,
which is the key compound of the ursodeoxycholyl-4-aminobenzoic acid
test in contaminated small bowel syndrome.
