ring-opening reactions of cyclic compounds (alkylsubstited cyclopropanes, cyclobutanes, various oxiranes), transformations of glycerol over supported or support-free early transition or transition metal catalysts: kinetic and mechanistic studies; synthesis, characterization and catalytic use of metal nanoparticles (relevant papers)

hydrogenation of olefins over transition metal catalysts; effect of S-, N-, I- and Cl-containing modifiers (relevant papers)

IR spectroscopic methods for studying the adsorption of simple organic molecules over supported transition metal catalysts (relevant papers)

Synthesis, characterisation of micro- and mesoporous materials or their precursors and their catalytic applications
