  • PERSONAL - Born in 1974, Szeged, Hungary. Has two sons, likes animals, lives with partner and younger son.
  • QUALIFICATIONS - M.Sc. (1997), Ph.D. (2001), habilitation (2008), D.Sc. (2019) in chemistry. M.Sc. in environmental science (1999). Category "B" driving license (1991). Fluent in English, beginner in German. 
  • SCIENTOMETRICS - Co-authored over 250 peer-reviewed papers. Received over 4000 independent citations, h-index according to ISI Web of Science: 34 (as of 25 August 2019).
  • RESEARCH INTERESTS - Interface phenomena in solid-liquid(-gas) systems, synthesis of nanomaterials, heterogeneous catalysis, structure of porous macroscopic bodies formed by fibrous objects. Imaging methods, SEM, microCT. Research ethics, scientific fraud, forensic analysis, analysis of artifacts, identifying fake and forged objects. 
  • CAREER - Attended Miklós Radnóti High School (1988-1992), then pursued M.Sc. (1997) and Ph.D. (2001) at the University of Szeged. TEMPUS exchange student (1996-1997) at the Debye Institute, University of Utrecht, the Netherlands. Postdoc (2001-2003) at the Institut for Experimental Physics, University of Vienna, Austria. Research assistant (2000-2001), assistant lecturer (2001-2005), assistant professor (2005-2009), associate professor (2009-present) of chemistry at University of Szeged. Served as deputy head of the Insitute of Chemistry (2009-2013, 2019-present) and deputy head of department (2010-present). Was PI of the MTA-SZTE Momentum ("Lendület") Porous Nanocomposites Research Group (2012-2017) that received an "outstanding" (highest possible) evaluation at the end of the project. Head of the Catalysis, colloid, surface and materials science program of the Chemistry Doctoral School of the University of Szeged.
  • AWARDS - Mihály Polányi Young Scientist Award (2007), Faculty Science Award of the University of Szeged, Faculty of Science and Informatics (2014), Ernő Pungor Award (2017). Was grant holder of Zoltán Magyary and János Bolyai postdoctoral research fellowships.
  • EXPERIENCE - Teaching in Hungarian and in English, research group management, proposal writing and evaluation at national and EU (FP7, H2020, ERC) level. Secured funding in excess of 3 million EUR until now.
