Lecture course for 1st year students
Course description:
The course offers a general introduction to all major areas of theoretical and applied linguistics: phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, sociolinguistics, historical linguistics, and psycholinguistics. The purpose of the course is to provide the student with a basic knowledge of the fundamental principles and notions of linguistics, as well as to introduce the most important methods of linguistic analysis.
Cheating in the exam will automatically result in a failing grade for the course.
